Follows a small fiction texte I wrote at the time:
The kampferd flying was design in Germany in the last month of the WWII, using the last jet innovations. It was to be a tactical "flying workhorse" based close to front lines and able to support ground troops, to ferry supplies, evacuate wounded soldiers, to serve as observation platforms, or to operate as flying gunships. As a VTOL or a STOL vehicule, it was to operate in any part of the battlefield.The vehicle is built around a fictional turbojet; the cold air flow issued from the large diameter nose fan is directed to both side of the machine, and vectored downward, producing lift. This is the same principal used by the two exhaust jets of the Harrier jump-jet. The combustion chamber and the turbine are situated between the pilot's legs. The hot gases from the tail exhaust provide control, complementary lift or horizontal thrust. In its VTOL configuration, fuel tanks and weaponry are fixed at the "wing" tips. Cargo may be placed behind the pilot or on the "wings." A person lying prone can be carried on a stretcher fixed crosswise on the bike, or a second trooper may sit behind the pilot.

The picture above shows the kit assembled and painted.The wheels are from the spare box (the standard kit comes with a single skid) and the pilot provide with kit have been here replaced by a german paratrooper test pilot. A more extensively mofified kampferd bike can be seen here.
This kit is realy simple to assemble and is a pleasure to modifie. 1/35 or 1/32 injected plastic parts can be easaly found to develop another version from you imagination.
