History
The Focke-Wulf "Volksjäger" was based on the Ta 183 "Huckebein" jet fighter. It was to be a short-range interceptor powered by a Walter HWK 109-509 A-2 rocket engine and armed with two MK 108 30mm cannon. Its flight time was limited to 15 minutes at a max speed of about 1,000 km/h. It was designed to operate at all altitudes, but especially at altitudes of up to 14 km.
The Focke-Wulf "Volksjager"prototype was to carry out test flights in May and June of 1945, plans that were never realized due to Germany's defeat in May of that year.
